All of Iowa

Midday Look

The complex of thunderstorms that was in SE South Dakota has moved in NW Iowa and SW Minnesota. The storms are not severe at this time. The most concentrated activity is around the Iowa Lakes region (Spirit Lake) and is moving eastward. This will likely stay north of US Hwy 18 as it moves across the state. The Slight risk of Severe Weather continues for all of Iowa today. The main threats will still be large hail and damaging winds. The tornado threat has been lowered and likely will not be a threat. The most concentrated area in Iowa for the severe weather will likely be the SW 1/2 of Iowa. This could change in later outlooks.
