Flooding Update Morning

Several Rivers in Iowa are still flooding due to recent heavy rainfall in south central and SW Iowa the last few days. In addition to the rivers, several creeks and streams have overflowed and have caused many county roads to be closed in south central Iowa, including Appanoose, Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold and Wayne Counties. Many have now reopened this morning, some gravel roads may still have water on them or the road may have washed out.

The Rivers that are currently flooding include:
Chariton River at Chariton (Will go above flood stage today and be in Minor flood through Sunday)
The Thompson River at Davis City (Moderate Flooding, will fall below flood stage Saturday)
The Des Moines River at Ottumwa (Minor Flooding will continue through at least mid week)
The South Fork Chartion River at Promise City (Minor Flooding will continue through the evening hours)
The Iowa River at Marengo (Moderate Flooding, will fall below Flood Stage Monday)
The Iowa River at Columbus Junction (Minor Flooding, will fall below flood stage on Saturday)
