Rainy, but well below Average Rainfall for the season.

Cornfield Clayton,WI July 18Th

It has been wet lately but, We still need some more rain! over the past 2 days we only picked up 0.28 of rain just over a quarter inch. June and so far July has been quite Dry, June ended out over 1 inch below normal in rainfall, And so far this July we have only picked up 1.37 inches the Average for July is 3.93 inches nearly 4 inches of rain! Because of the lack of rain some creeks and streams are low, the Creek near my house is nearly gone, also the Ponds on our land are Very low,But some lakes are at some of there highest levels in years, for the last few years Lake Magnor, just south of Clayton, has been low but this year it is at a more Normal level, I also heard it has been much cleaner with less Algae! The reason the lakes are higher then last year is because of the Wet spring we had, and Above normal winter snowfall. The weather has gotten more active over the past few weeks which is great news! But we could use Rain because we are over 3 inches behind in rainfall. It has been wetter this year, and it’s been raining more frequent. The corn looks like some of best corn I’ve seen. thankfully the rain has been frequent enough to keep the corn from drying up. We have not had too much rain here, But some places have gotten of 1 inch of rain these past few days, Hopefully the rain keeps coming.

Flowers are looking great! My garden has never had so many blooming flowers!

Here is a Miniature rose I got from Becker’s Store in Turtle Lake after Valentines day ( when they went on sale ), I bought the rose to see what it would do planted in the ground, it is looking great! and a cheap way for roses! I also have Yellow, Orange, and Red roses that I bought from the same store, last winter.

  1. All you need, Derek, is one gully washer to roll over your area and you’ll be caught up. OSNW3 has received 29.37″ already this year. The annual average for Oshkosh is 31.57″. We’re half way through the year and almost have a years worth of precip. Hopefully the precip comes this Winter again. I love me some snow! 🙂
