An estimated 5 inches of rain has fallen in eastern Linn County according to both Des Moines and Davenport radars since this morning. Also 4-5 inches are estimated in small portions of Clarke and Decatur Counties. Also 5 inches was estimated in O’Brien County near Primghar from storms that had occurred this morning. At just before 7:30, National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a line of heavy non-severe thunderstorms from West Branch to Iowa City to Ottumwa to Lamoni. These storms continue to drift SE’ward at 20 mph. Heavy rain will be the biggest threat the rest of the night, with an isolated severe storm with large hail and damaging winds with these storms as they move into SE Iowa.
