Flooding Update

Only a few rivers in Iowa remain above Flood Stage. The Des Moines River from Des Moines downstream remains above flood stage. The Iowa River from Marengo to the Mississippi River is above flood stage but only at Iowa City is it still in Major Flood Stage, due to the Coralville Reservoir outflow which is expected to not be reduced until the 4th of July. The Mississippi River is still above flood stage downstream of Muscatine.

With the recent rainfall over the past few days some rivers may rise or run steady before falling again. Note the Cedar River at Cedar Rapids which had crested at 31.12 feet two weeks ago was down to 7.99 feet at 9pm this evening. Flood Stage is 12 feet.
